U11A POWERSKATING & SKILLS

Fridays, Jan. 9 – Feb. 27 (no session Feb. 13)
Session 1 - 3:45-4:45pm

Planet Ice 1

Instructors - Craig Fraser (CJHL, OHL, CIAU) & Marcie Munro (NHTC)

Camp Overview -

This Power Skating Camp is designed for Rep A level players looking to improve their skating
speed, agility, edgework, quickness, explosiveness and overall performance on the ice. This
intensive on ice program combines high-level power skating instruction with advanced puck
handling and Shooting drills to take your game to the next level.

Camp Highlights -

Power Skating Focus:

-Stride Mechanics & Efficiency: Learn the key components of powerful skating,
including proper posture, stride technique, and body positioning for faster, more
explosive movements.
-Edge Work & Turning: Develop your ability to control tight turns, transitions, and
pivoting using inside and outside edges for improved on-ice maneuverability.
-Acceleration & Speed: Focus on short-burst sprints, explosive starts, and quick
changes of direction to outpace your opponents.
-Balance & Stability: Strengthen your balance while skating at top speed to maintain
control and agility during game situations.

Puck Handling Drills:

-Stickhandling: Improve your ability to handle the puck under pressure with a series of
quick, tight maneuvers in tight spaces.
-Deceptive Moves: Master head fakes, toe drags, and other deceptive moves to
outsmart defenders and create space.
-Puck Handling at High Speeds: Learn how to control the puck while moving at top
speed to simulate real game conditions.
-Protecting the Puck: Develop key skills for shielding the puck from defenders in tight
situations, maintaining possession under pressure.

Whether you're aiming to enhance your skating stride or develop better puck control, this
Power Skating and Skills Camp will provide the training you need to elevate your game!

Tuesdays, Jan. 6 - Feb. 24

Cost: $280 & GOALIES FREE - 7 SESSIONS

Camp Overview -

These camps will be fundamentals-focused camp designed to sharpen every player’s core
skill sets! Players will work through a balanced mix of technique, tempo, and competition,
helping them gain more confidence in their skating and puck handling skills.
Each session blends quality instruction with competitive elements, including:
Targeted technical skill drills
High-tempo reps to improve pace and decision-making
Accurate passing and effective shooting mechanics
Improved hockey IQ and angling skills
Puck control and Puck protection drills
Battle drills that encourage competitiveness and resilience

This camp provides an energetic, supportive environment where players can elevate their
fundamental skill sets to increase confidence on ice moving towards a banner run. This camp
will also enhance players skills who are looking to enter the Rep stream next season or are
moving to U13.

U13A HIGH-PERFORMANCE SKILLS

Thursdays, Jan. 8 – Feb. 26

Planet Ice 2

Instructors – Todd McKave (BCHL) & Keith Peterson (Centennial Hockey Academy)

Camp Overview -

This High-Performance Skills Development program is built for athletes who are motivated,
committed, and ready to put in the work required to reach their goals. Designed for players who
truly love the game, this training offers a challenging, high-level environment focused on elevating
individual skills and overall game performance.

A strong emphasis will also be placed on angling, proper body-contact technique, giving and
receiving hits safely, and effective puck protection. These elements are essential for building
confidence in physical play and preparing athletes for the faster, more demanding levels ahead.

Athletes will work through targeted, in-season development that emphasizes game-specific
situations. Sessions will focus on advanced skating technique, puck control, shooting, passing,
and both defensive and offensive zone escapes. Players will be grouped by position—ideally 6–8
defensemen and 9–12 forwards—to ensure specialized instruction that supports their unique roles
on the ice.

This program is an excellent fit for players transitioning into U15 spring hockey and gearing up for
next season, offering a valuable opportunity to sharpen skills and step into the next level with
confidence.

Cost: Players:  $320 & GOALIES FREE - 8 SESSIONS

U13C SKILLS DEVELOPMENT

This camp is designed to be a fundamentals-focused camp is designed to sharpen every

This Skills Development program will be run by former junior players and is built for athletes who
are motivated, committed, and ready to put in the work required to improve their skills. This training
offers a challenging, high-level environment focused on elevating individual skills and overall game
performance.

Athletes will work through targeted, in-season development that emphasizes game-specific
situations. Sessions will focus on puck control, shooting, passing, angling and both defensive and
offensive zone escapes.

Emphasis will also be placed on angling, proper body-contact technique, giving and receiving hits
safely, and effective puck protection. These elements are essential for players who wish to enter
the Rep stream or those moving into U18 next season.

This program is an excellent fit for players looking to improve on angling and contact skills and for
those transitioning into U18 next season, spring contact hockey or just gearing up for the playoffs. It
offers a valuable opportunity to sharpen skills and step into playoffs and the next level with
confidence.
