GENERAL POLICIES

Payment Policies

Payment Methods:

As of the 2024-25 season, OFFLINE PAYMENTS ARE NO LONGER ACCEPTED.
- This includes e-transfers, cheques, cash, money orders, and bank drafts.
- ONLY credit cards are accepted, and ONLY via TS registration.
  - Credit card payments incur processing fees that are charged by TS and go directly to TS.
All player registrations require a $100 deposit, without exception. All tryout fees must be paid in full.

Installments:

Families may choose to pay in installments by credit card only at the time of registration. After the initial $100 deposit per athlete is made, remaining balance will be distributed over three monthly installments from July 15 until September 15.
- This option is only available by credit card via TS at the time of registration - if you do not select this option before checking out, you cannot go back to installments after completing payment.

Financial Assistance:

Financial assistance is also available to assist with payment of registration fees. Please see the Financial Assistance page for more details.
If you are applying for financial assistance, please Contact the Registrar to confirm that you have Funding application(s) in process. Proof of funding applications must be submitted WITHIN 7 DAYS to confirm registration.
$100 deposit per player is required

There will be no players permitted on the ice until all fees are paid in full or alternate arrangements have been made with the Registrar for financial assistance. There will be NO exceptions.

Rep Evaluation Policies

Number of Teams:

The number of rep teams in each division will be determined based on a number of different factors. The intent is to provide opportunity for players to play at the highest level they can attain and desire. If you do not register and pay the appropriate fees for the Rep Tryout process, you will be unable to be considered for any rep team at a later date.
The decision about whether there will be an A2/A3 team in a division will be made based on several factors.

External Tryouts:

You must advise the Board Member responsible by email with a cc to the Registrar of tryout for any Zone, Academy or Junior or Hub Camps with approximate dates of same. If you are missing any of the CMHA rep tryouts, you must:
- have received permission in writing from the Board Member responsible for any missed dates and
- be properly registered and paid in full for tryouts by July 1, by either:
  - a Regular Registration OR
  - an External Tryout Hold registration
PLAYERS TRYING OUT FOR HIGHER LEVEL TEAMS ARE NOT GUARANTEED PLACEMENT ON ANY CMHA TEAM.
Any registered player that obtains a release by September 30th to play for a Zone or other Hockey Canada Sanctioned team shall receive a 100% refund of the basic registration fees if they registered with a Regular Registration. Tryout fees are non-refundable under a Regular Registration.

Dates for Rep Evaluations:

Dates for Rep Evaluations will be posted on the Important Dates page.
If there are any changes made to the process they will be posted prior to the tryouts.
All players who wish to be considered for the Rep teams MUST sign up for this phase at time of registration. There absolutely will be NO opportunity to play on the A teams (other than as an affiliate) if the player has not registered and paid for tryouts.
AGAIN - Rep tryout fees are NON-REFUNDABLE unless you are an eligible External Tryout Hold registrant and you withdraw before July 1.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

Goalie Rebate

Base registration fees have been reduced by half for full-time goaltenders in U11 and above who do not make use of any CMHA Goalie Gear.
If you are a U11 part-time goalie, please register as a U11 Part-time goalie.
All goalies that have taken the rebate will be rostered as full-time goalies AND will have their own gear.
- If the discounted rate is taken and the player is not rostered as a full-time goalie, or does not have their own gear, the difference in fees will be charged and must be paid immediately.

Early Bird Discount

External Tryout Hold Registration

An alternative registration fee to players in the U13/U15/U18 divisions, while they are trying out for elite HOCKEY CANADA-SANCTIONED programs that are external to CMHA, so they can be accounted for in CMHA tryouts in the event they are not signed by the elite program.

External Tryout Hold Registration equals the current CMHA Tryout Fee and the Hold Fee ($25).
The above fees must be paid in FULL at the time of registration. Installments are not permitted for this type of registration.
Proof of being scheduled in the tryouts must be provided to ensure the external program is HC-sanctioned.
The player must communicate their status on a regular basis to the Board Member responsible for the division.
The player must register by July 1. This option expires as of July 1st.
If the player registers prior to July 1 and advises that they are not participating in CMHA tryouts before July 1, the tryout portion of the fee will be refunded. The hold fee is non-refundable.
If the player participates in CMHA tryouts and is subsequently signed to the external program, the entire fee is non-refundable.
If the player participates in CMHA tryouts, is offered a spot in the external program, and is then released back to CMHA from the external program, the $25 hold fee will be credited towards their regular season registration fees.
1. Upon such release and return, their CMHA base registration fees will be due immediately.
The Hold Fee and the Tryout Fee are NOT registration fees as defined by the Bylaws. They are only administrative fees to provide a solution to both parties (the player and the association) for their planning purposes at a lower cost.
Registering as an External Hold Tryout registrant and paying the External Hold Tryout Fees DOES NOT mean that the player has any membership rights under the Bylaws notwithstanding any other policy attempting to enforce such by a governing body other than the BC Societies’ Act. The Coquitlam Minor Hockey Association is an autonomous non-profit society governed by the BC Societies’ Act and submitting any type of registration assumes acceptance of the Bylaws, Regulations, Codes, and Policies of the Association in order to be valid.
