Financial Assistance

The following websites offer grants, towards basic registration fees.  We encourage all applicants to apply early, as there are limited funds available.

Lace Em Up -

The Lace’em Up Foundation for Kids is pleased to announce a partnership with the Hockey Canada Foundation’s “Assist Fund”.

NEW AUG 2023 - CMHA Foundation Fund:

Players who have reached the maximum amount of their yearly external subsidies allowance (Kidsport, etc) for their base registration fees, may apply for financial assistance from the CMHA Foundation Fund in the following amounts to cover balances owing on registration fees, rep fees or team fees.

U7-U9: up to $125
U11-U18C: up to $250
U11-U18A: up to $500

Conditions:

• Family must apply to the program via online form - assistance will not automatically be granted
• Must show that other sources of funding have been exhausted - to be confirmed by the Registrar
• Must provide a letter of confirmation from Kidsport Tri-Cities that family has been vetted for financial need with their application
• Order of priority:
  1. 1) registration fees,
  2. 2) rep fees (for ‘A’ players),
  3. 3) team fees.
• Amounts above are maximums, but the maximum may not be granted.  Final amounts to be determined after Board review.
• May apply once per season, per player
• Each season requires a fresh review; renewal is not automatic
• Amounts will be applied to balances owing directly by CMHA.  Parents will NOT receive a cheque.
• Team Managers will be directed to reduce the amount owing of the family specifically; the funds will not be a general deposit to the team.
• Cannot be applied to pre-season rep tryout fees
• CMHA reserves the right to add or change any other condition not explicitly laid out here

Privacy Notice: the application will be shared internally and confidentially with the appropriate Board members and amount will be shared with team managers and treasurers for the purpose of fees/amount owing reduction.  When subsidy amounts are presented to the Board for disbursement approval, names will be redacted.
