referee development ice sessions

 

Much like practices for players, our weekly ice sessions allow for officials to develop skills such as skating, positioning, signals and communication in a non-game setting.

Game assignments for U9-U13 are done by the association referee assignor with support from the officiating development team to ensure that games are staffed by qualified officials. Ice session attendance is one tool of evaluating officials and ensure that they are recommended for games.

While these ice sessions are not mandatory, they are highly recommended for continued development.

We have regular weekly ice sessions on most Saturdays held at:

Game assignments are prioritized to officials who place a focus on their officiating development by attending our weekly ice sessions, participating in our team activities, and updating their availability regularly.

Registration is open for officials to participate in all our weekly ice sessions up to the Christmas break.
