Spring Programs
2023 SPRING DEVELOPMENT
OBJECTIVE
CMHA is pleased to be able to offer a spring development training program to both build on the skills learned this past season and to develop new ones. Unlike team oriented spring hockey, our objective with this development at CMHA is provide affordable player development outside of a team environment where most frequently the emphasis is on game play with limited puck touches and comes at a high cost.
Our goal is to assist each player in developing transferable skills that will help them transition into their next level, in a supportive environment and also encouraging the multi-sport athlete.
The improvement is based not a list of specific skills, rather it is about what each player can do individually to move forward. Each individual possesses a higher level of skill, be that shooting, skating, general hockey sense, speed of awareness and movement and we will work to bring that forefront, focusing on where they excel and helping them determine which habits and skills do not translate well to the next transition.
Everyone has strengths and weaknesses, it is the ability to play the game in a way that accentuates their personal strengths and minimizes their weaknesses that creates the best athletes. Please see detailed program descriptions below.
